Not a scoring app with analytics bolted on. One record that reaches from a single target to an entire season, and from one shooter to a whole squad.
Singles, handicap, doubles
Posts one through five, handicap yardage nineteen to twenty-seven, doubles as two clays a pair. Shot by shot when you want the detail, quick score when you don't.
Post, angle, direction, cause
A lost bird can carry where you stood, which way the target went, which way you missed it and why. That's the detail a paper sheet throws away.
A squad of five, one phone
Whoever keeps score calls targets in the real firing rotation, and the finished round goes out to each shooter to accept into their own account.

A score sheet records the total. Which target you lost, from which post, on which angle, and why — that never gets written down, so there's nothing to work on later.

Analytics
Find out where the misses cluster
Averages, longest run, best round and best total, broken out per discipline — plus a miss breakdown by post, target angle, miss direction and cause.
If the sample is thin, the app says so.
Six rounds gets labelled a limited sample, not a percentage worth bragging about. Longest run breaks honestly too: a quick-scored round with a miss in it ends the streak, because the positions aren't provable.
History
One record, and you can tell where it came from
Sessions newest first, rounds grouped inside them, every round carrying its own state — saved, synced, and verified when someone else scored it and you claimed it.

Whoever is keeping score sets up the squad, binds each shooter to their identity, and calls targets in the real firing rotation. The cursor never leaves the screen, so you always know whose bird is in the air.

Strong binding
Scan their code, and it's theirs
Scan a shooter's identity code at squad setup and the finished round is staged in their own Claims inbox. Only that account can accept it, and it arrives verified. Nobody else can pick it up.
Weak keying
Only a name or a number? Then you confirm it
If all you had was an ATA number or a name, a matching shooter can request the round — but it only moves once you, the scorer, confirm it. The squad leader initialling the sheet, kept intact.
Offline-first
Data is never lost.
Not a feature bullet — the first rule the app was built on. The network is treated as an eventual convenience rather than a requirement.
Saved on this device
The round is written to on-device storage the instant you tap. Airplane mode, dead zone, app force-closed and reopened — it's still there.
Queued
Changes line up in order and wait. Screens you'd need at the line are pre-cached, so they open even if you never visited them that day.
Backed up
Back in signal, everything syncs both ways and your history is on any device you sign into. Your rows stay yours: the database itself enforces it.

Where this actually stands
ClayScope is live and in use — installable, real accounts, real two-way sync, tested on a phone in airplane mode. It's in open beta: the whole app is free to use while we build it out with clubs, leagues and school programs.
Open to shooters 13 and older. Log your rounds, score a squad, and track your averages — and it stays saved on your device even with no signal.
Equipment analytics, coaching mode and event scoring are designed and not yet built.
